An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit the Chinese city of Hotan on Wednesday. According to the US Geological Survey, the quake struck about 263 kilometers southeast of Hotan, an oasis city in western China's Xinjiang region.
Hotan suffered an earthquake at 2:32 local time. It formed at a depth of 17 kilometers and its epicenter was at a depth of 35 kilometers.053°N and 81.395°E. Although further details are awaited, no casualties from the quake have been reported so far.
