Alicia Keys launches a new makeup collection, All Our Travels in Mind

Over the years, 41-year-old Keyes has struggled with social standards, a struggle that led to her big decision to stop using makeup in 2016. However, Keyes' faceless movement has evolved into the idea that beauty is what you want. So be - and something that can change over time.

The Girl on Fire helped spread that message by expanding Keys Soulcare by introducing skin-tone hybrids. Labeled Make You Collection, Keys offers tinted lip balms, cheek tints, and brow gels to enhance shine and keep your skin healthy. The collection, which Keys introduced on the 2022 Met Gala red carpet, also includes a tanning brush.

"[My makeup vision] is fully developed," Keys told the news. "I've been wearing makeup since I was 16 when I first started imagining. I have very challenging skin, and I keep exploding."

"I was in a unique universe that I didn't understand," Keys said of the Hollywood invasion. "It was full of anxiety, stress, and stress, and my skin just got worse. I kept hiding it and did my best to cover it up because people can be mean. After a while, I didn't feel pretty if I didn't wear makeup."

Keys says that's when he started to rebel. "I thought, 'I don't have to do anything.' I didn't have to wear it on my skin; that's how I felt at the time. It was my relationship with beauty... It was tense. But I had time to get to know myself."

Although Keys welcomed makeup back into her life, it was in her way.

"I can determine what beauty is to me. No one can tell me what it is, nor can I tell anyone what it is. That's why my relationship with [makeup and beauty] got to this point," Keys told news.
