Billy Eilish Says He's "Quite Confident" About her Tourette Syndrome: It's Part Of Me

Billy Eilish is open about living with Tourette Syndrome.

"So many people have it, you never know," Billy Eilish told David Letterman about living with Tourette's Syndrome, diagnosed at the age of 11.

The 20-year-old Grammy winner admitted to having a nervous breakdown because he had a seizure while appearing at the season 4 premiere of David Letterman's talk show on Netflix on Friday. My Next Guest Needs no introduction.

"I'm excited to talk about it," he said, adding, "I like answering questions because it's exciting. I'm so confused about it and don't understand it." I never tickled him. At all, because the prominent tics I do all the time, all day, are like: I move my ears back and forth, I raise my eyebrows, and I click my jaw ... and I bend my arms here, and I turn this one Arms, I tense these muscles. You never realize these things just by talking to me, but it was exhausting for me," Ailish added.

He explained that he was diagnosed when he was 11 years old after experiencing mild physical tics as a child that worsened with age. When he was "focused" on tasks like singing or riding a horse, he didn't experience as many tics.

"It's bizarre; I haven't talked about it. "The most common reaction people have is to laugh because they think I'm trying to be funny," she told Letterman, 75. "They think I [tick] like a funny movie. And they said, "Ha." And I've always been very upset about it. Or they say, "What?" And then I said to myself, "I have Tourette's."

"So many people have it; you never know. Some artists say, "Actually, I've always had a few on Tourette." And I don't date because they don't want to talk about it. But it appealed to me because I told myself, "You did it? What?"' added Ailish.

Ailish previously revealed her diagnosis of Tourette Syndrome in 2018 after fans made a video compilation of her tics, according to Billboard.

"I didn't like him, but I felt like it was a part of me. I'm friends with him. I'm pretty sure of that now," Aylish thought of My Next Guess.
