The radio host wrote "goodbye" to fans earlier this week, telling them he had been hospitalized.

Deborah James taped her latest podcast days after revealing she was in the hospital during her battle with colon cancer. James, 40, released Tuesday In The Deborah's Last Dance, the title of the latest episode of the news podcast You, Me and the Big C: Putting the Can in Cancer.

Speaking to friend and producer Mike Holt from his parent's backyard, the British radio presenter told Holt: "I can say I'm fine, but I'm not. Last week, I worked on what I knew would come for five years. Last. I feel like playing with the devil. You're like, "Oh no, he's after me now." I didn't mean it."

"We all know that I had a tough six months. My heart is not working. We tried everything," he added. The conversation came just days after he was told that his cancer treatment was discontinuing and that he would receive palliative care instead, Holt said.

"I've felt so weak in the last four months, and my body can't take it anymore. I tried so hard for five years. I'm still trying hard, but my body doesn't want to play anymore," he said, "I can't even walk again. This is scary. I went from someone who runs 5 km a day to someone who needs her husband to take her for walks.

He told Holt he was in the same hospital from January to earlier this month, "minus a few days at home." It was then determined that she needed hospital treatment, which she planned to receive at her parents' home.

"I've always wanted to die there," he said, adding, "It's amazing how I had five years to know this would happen to me, and it's still a shock... I know I don't have months.". It could be weeks at most."

He gets emotional and ends the episode thanking the team and the audience.
