Don't call Jack Dorsey CEO anymore: he's a 'Block Head'

Former Twitter CEO and technology entrepreneur Jack Dorsey have a new title: Block Head.

According to a regulatory filing created Friday by digital payments company Block Inc., co-founder Jack Dorsey is changing his title from "Block CEO, President, and Chairperson" to "Block Head and Chairperson," effective immediately. However, the change is only semantic, and there will be "no changes in Mr. Dorsey's roles and responsibilities," according to the filing.

In 2009, Dorsey co-founded Square, a payments company. In December, Block was renamed to reflect its expansion to include the Tidal music streaming service, Cash App, and TBD54566975, a financial services platform primarily focused on Bitcoin.

Dorsey also co-founded Twitter and served as its CEO until November of this year.

Twitter has stated that he will remain on the company's board of directors until May. Dorsey's title change is similar to one made by Tesla CEO Elon Musk last year when he added "Technoking of Tesla" to his official role as the electric car maker. Musk and Twitter are familiar with one another, and Musk is now offering to buy Twitter for more than $43 billion.
