Google is offering some benefits to redundant Google employees to help them transition to another job.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai has released a statement showing that Google will lay off 12,000 employees. "I have some difficult news for you. We have decided to reduce our workforce by around 12,000 jobs. We have already sent an email to the affected employees in the US. In other countries, this process will take longer due to local practices," Pichai wrote to Google employees.
What benefits do laid-off employees receive?
Google will offer some benefits to Google employees who are laid off to help them transition to another job. In the United States, employees are paid the full notice period (60 days minimum) and also receive severance pay starting at 16 weeks of salary plus two additional weeks for each additional year they have worked at Google. 2022 awards and remaining vacation time.They will also be offered medical care, job placement services and immigration support for those affected for 6 months. Pichai says Google hired workers under an economic condition that no longer exists.
Pichai's letter states that the company has undergone significant expansion over the past two years, but in order to sustain that growth, people have been hired on the basis of an economic perspective that is no longer valid. Pichai refers to the prospect of a global recession that could materialize due to the US Federal Reserve's rate hike decision. "I'm sure you have many questions about how we're moving forward.
