How European Law Enforcement Is Countering Foreign Sabotage

Lithuania has charged 15 individuals with terrorism offenses in connection with an alleged Russian backed parcel bomb plot. The charges are the result of an international investigation into a series of explosions and attempted detonations that occurred across Europe last year. The investigation identified Russian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, and Ukrainian citizens among those charged, and stated that the operation was organized by Russian citizens "associated with the military intelligence services of the Russian Federation." The accused allegedly used social media platforms to recruit and pay individuals in cryptocurrency for carrying out the attacks.
