Government of Canada has taken an important decision for international students studying in Canada which will benefit more than 5 lakh international students. The Government of Canada has given important information that international students can work more than 20 hours per week on a study permit.


The announcement was made by Government of Canada has taken an important decision for international students studying in Canad Sean Fraser from Ottawa, the capital of Canada.


In which from 15 November 2022 to 31 December 2023, international students living in Canada will be able to work off campus on their study permit. They will be allowed to do more than 20 jobs per week. However, students are advised not to overwork at the expense of studies.

Immigration consultant Parthesh Thakkar told Divya Bhaskar that the decision will help students cover their expenses and earn more during their studies.


According to Immigration Minister Sean Fraser, the decision is intended to address the labor shortage crisis being experienced across Canada. Canada is grappling with historic labor shortages and unemployment rates.


Currently international students who apply to study in an eligible Canadian academic program can work up to 20 hours per week during their studies. This limit is waived during schedule breaks like summer and winter holidays. There are currently about 1 million job openings in Canada. Canada's economy will be adversely affected if there are no working people.
