The father of Fordham, 6, and Essex, 4, with ex Ashley Hebert, said it's "humbling" that he was able to heal completely.
In 2019, the former reality star was diagnosed with and treated for Guillain-Barré Syndrome.
J.P. Rosenbaum is happy to report that he is healthy and has made a "full recovery" more than two years after being diagnosed with the rare neurological disorder Guillain-Barré Syndrome.
Rosenbaum was hospitalized for several days and lost his ability to perform previously simple tasks such as tying his shoes and picking up his children. He spent weeks in occupational therapy to relearn the movements.
The reality star stated in February 2021 that he feels "about 100 percent," and on Sunday, he indicated that he is still doing well. Rosenbaum was answering questions from his Instagram followers when one of them asked if he still has Guillain-Barré Syndrome symptoms.
"Fortunately, no!" he exclaimed. "I was extremely fortunate to be diagnosed also treated so quickly! It limited the damage to my nerves, allowing them to heal and recover completely."
"Many other people are not as lucky," he said. Rosenbaum told news shortly after his hospitalization that his condition had an immediate impact on his life with then-wife Hebert and their children.
"With the kids, Ashley and I used to have a pretty good balance," he said. "I would prepare breakfasts and lunches and deliver them to school two to three times per week. I can not even pick up my kids anymore. I can't bathe them; I can't help them. I am unable to contribute in any way. The most difficult part is watching Ashley do everything. "Fortunately, "the kids have been fantastic, "Rosenbaum elaborated. "I was concerned about their reaction. But we told them that Daddy is sick and that we need to be cautious, but that I'm getting better and stronger."
