Blazers may have new potential buyers.
The Portland Trail Blazers are likely to change ownership soon, and several entrepreneurs are expected to be interested in owning the team.
Following the death of owner Paul Allen in 2018 at the age of 65, his sister Jody took over the franchise and had been running it ever since. But now, Jody is ready to find a new franchise owner belonging to his brother.
According to John Canzano, among those willing to buy were Larry Ellison, co-founder of Oracle Corporation, Lorin Powell-Jobs, widow of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, and Mackenzie Scott, ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
If Powell-Jobs or Scott became the owner, she would be the first female owner to buy a team in NBA history.
Scott, 52, divorced Bezos in 2019 after 26 years together and married Dan Just in 2021. After finalizing his divorce from Bezos, Scott spent some time as a philanthropist with his organization, the Mackenzie Scott Foundation.
And she could soon be the owner of the newest blazer.
