Kanye West flees to Tokyo with his girlfriend, Cheney Jones, amid strict travel restrictions

Kanye West and Cheney Jones' trip to Tokyo comes after Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced he would loosen travel restrictions next month.

The 44-year-old Grammy winner stood next to the 24-year-old model on a bridge overlooking Tokyo's Omotesando Street, an upscale retailer. She rested her head on the man's shoulder in the hilarious photo she posted to her Instagram. which made history on Thursday.

The duo was also spotted wandering the streets of Shibuya near the famous Harajuku Street, and fans shared photos of the couple on social media. According to the US Embassy and Consulates in Japan, his trip comes amid strict travel restrictions in Japan, where tourist travel is not yet permitted, and US citizens have minimal access.

According to Bloomberg, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said on Thursday that he plans to loosen travel restrictions next month. West first became romantically involved with Jones in February when they were photographed shopping together in Miami Ball Harbor. She appears to have confirmed the romance on Instagram in March, commenting on their photo with a black emoji.

The pair have since been stained together on the court at a Los Angeles Lakers game in March, also she congratulated him on his last Grammy win last month. "BIG PROGRESS," Jones wrote after West won Best Melodic Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.

The new novel Donda 2 comes after she and 32-year-old Julia Fox quit in February following a tumultuous relationship that began on New Year's Eve. "Julia and Kanye remain good friends and collaborators, but they are no longer together," their rep told PEOPLE on Valentine's Day.
