And Bloom's presence not only sparked her longing to be a mother but also became a balancer
"I always say when she walks in the room, there's a zest for life," Perry said of Bloom's infectious personality. Katy Perry's decision to become a mother had something to do with the most important man in her life.
While appearing on Dear Chelsea, Perry revealed something about motherhood and when she decided it was the right time.
"The best decision I've ever made," he told Chelsea Handler about raising his 20-month-old daughter, Daisy Dove, which he shares with fiancé Orlando Bloom. "I'm not very motherly, and I think it might be due to some things from my childhood."
And although Perry, 37, says she has long believed that motherhood is meaningless because there is a "void," Bloom, 45, changes that perspective. He is with his first child, Flynn, who is now 11 years old. That must have touched me the most - something inside me said, 'You, your mid-30s. This man is handsome. He had to breed, he joked. "He's a good man."
When he steps in the room, I always say there is a zest for life, and some people ask, "What is this man for?" She had a bright and cheerful aura, and I was a little more excited and more prone to depression.
During the news, she also revealed that she had been living in Kentucky for "almost a month," which opened up her perspective.
"[It's] an amazing experience, and it reminds you that Hollywood is not America - and you have to remember that because I think you can understand people better," he said of his life situation.
During an interview with E! Last month, the Firework singer revealed on the American Idol red carpet that she was busy with her daughter as Daisy reached new heights.
"He's running, he's like, 'I love you, he's coloring, [and] he has pigtails," the Dark Horse singer told the outlet.
