Sandra Oh fans are always looking forward to the return of the epic Grey's Anatomy, including Kevin McKee!
On Thursday, the actor, who has appeared on ABC's medical series since 2008 as Dr. Owen Hunt, about the one person he wants to see again at the Gray Sloan Memorial, even if it's only for one episode.
"I want and I always say I want Sandra Oh back," McKee, 48, told NEWS during the 400th episode of Grey's Anatomy in Hollywood. "I didn't think he would. He always said no. Every time I saw him, I touched him and said, 'Come on, come on. Just one thing, maybe one day he will say yes. I always try to do that."
"I think there's a way to make him do something else," he continued. "He is an artist. And if he keeps walking, he keeps walking. So it wasn't because of a bad feeling, just because he kept going."
"We're good friends too," she added, before joking, "So Sandra, I've come for you."
Oh, 50, played by Dr. Christina Young, who was married to McKeed's character for the first ten seasons of Gray before announcing her departure in 2013. The performance earned the actress her first Golden Globe Award and five Emmy Award nominations.
Last year, O completed the role of Dr. Christina Young and noted on the Los Angeles Times podcast Asian Enough that she is "moving forward."
"I would say it's scarce to see a character impact like that. You do your job like a balloon, and you let it go," he said. "I left this show almost seven years ago, God. So it wasn't in my head. But for a lot of people, it's still very much alive. And as long as I understand and love it, I keep going.
"But I love him," he added. "And that's why I value the show so much ... that they still ask me that."
