"I was terrified 'cause I had never been shot at before," the rapper tells Gayle King on CBS Mornings in her first TV interview about what happened.
Megan Thee Stallion is speaking about the trauma she experienced after being shot in July 2020.
In a new preview of an new interview with Gayle King, which will air Monday on CBS Mornings, the Grammy Award winner recounts the night Tory Lanez allegedly shot her in both feet during a party in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills.
"There was an argument because I was ready to go, and everyone else wasn't, but that's normal friend stuff." "We make a huge deal out of silly things," the 27-year-old rapper says. "But... I never put my hands on anyone, and I never spoke too loudly." This was one of those times when things should not have gotten so out of hand."
In a TV interview, she addresses the incident for the first time, claiming that the 29-year-old Lanez (delivered Daystar Peterson) was "standing up over the window, shooting" at her.
"So, I get out of the car, also everything happens so fast," she says to King. "And all I can think around is this man."The interview preview shows her becoming emotional as she recounts to King what happened two years ago.
"I didn't want to get up. I didn't want to move too quickly because I was thinking, 'Oh my God, if I take the wrong step, I do not know if he'll shoot something super important, I don't know if he'll shoot me and kill me,' "She sheds a tear.
"I was scared because I had never been shot at before," the Good News performer adds.
Lanez was arrested at the scene also charged with concealing a firearm in a vehicle before being released on $35,000 bail.
According to authorities, he was recently arrested also released on bond after violating court orders prohibiting him from contacting Megan Thee Stallion or discussing any discovery in the case with outside parties.
