SFPD has refused to identify either subject.

Mike Tyson, the former heavyweight boxing champion, appears to have joined the ranks of rowdy airline passengers.

"Unfortunately, Mr. Tyson had a happening on a flight with an aggressive passenger who started harassing him also threw a water bottle at him while he was in his seat," said Tyson's representative, Joann Mignano, in a statement.

According to TMZ Sports, the video was shot on a JetBlue flight in San Francisco. It shows a man hitting what appears to be another passenger in the seat behind him on multiple occasions.

The video released by TMZ does not depict the entire incident. The footage posted by the outlet does not show a water bottle.

The video of the bangs lasts about 10 seconds and includes audio of someone calling "Hey Mike, Mike" to try to defuse the situation.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, around 10 p.m. PT on Wednesday, officers "were dispatched to a physical quarrel on board an airplane located at the Domestic Terminal of the San Francisco International Airport" (SFPD).

According to police, 2 people believed to be involved in the incident have been detained. According to an SFPD statement, one person was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

"That subject provided minimal facts of the incident and refused to cooperate further with the police investigation," according to the police. As a result, both individuals have been freed "pending further investigation."

The police department stated that it was aware of a video that could have captured the altercation and had shared it with the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

Detective Javier Acosta of the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office told CNN that his office would handle the investigation and declined to name either subject, citing the ongoing investigation. In addition, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) communicated Thursday morning that it did not have a report on an unruly passenger incident aboard a JetBlue flight on Wednesday.

"The FAA investigates all airline reports of passenger disturbances," the agency said in a news release. For more information, the FAA referred reporters to local law enforcement.
