One person was killed and at least nine others injured after reports of a shooting at a GloRilla concert in Rochester, New York sparked panic.
Unfounded fears of a shooting at a rap concert in Rochester, New York, prompted crowds to rush to the exits in a stampede that left one dead and two others fighting for their lives, authorities said.
Memphis rap stars GloRilla and Finesse2tymes ended Sunday night at Rochester's Main Street Armory when people exited the grounds just after 11 p.m. it has begun to grow dangerously, Police Chief David M. Smith said at a news conference Monday.
We have no evidence that shots were fired or that anyone was shot or stabbed at the scene, Smith said.
Police entered and found three women seriously injured. One of them died in hospital at the age of 33.

Two other people were in critical condition Monday, police said. Seven other people were treated at nearby hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries.
What began last night as an evening of live music and fun for GloRilla ended in tragedy with one person dead and two others fighting for their lives, the boss said. Although there is no evidence of a shooting, Smith said police are investigating several possible causes of the death toll, including crowd size, the shooting, pepper spray and other factors.
Mayor Malik Evans called the death panic "completely unacceptable" and promised a thorough investigation into whether the operators of the facilities had taken the necessary safety measures to deal with large crowds.
We'll hold people accountable for what happened last night, period, Evans said, although he warned it was too early to investigate the error.

emails seeking comment were sent to the Armory as of Monday.GloRilla, whose song F.N.F. (Let's Go) with Hitkidd for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance, she tweeted that she was praying everyone was okay.
waves of deadly crowds were repeatedly a disaster at concerts and other major events across the United States.S. and around the world, including rapper Travis Scott's 2021 concert that killed 10 people.
Built between 1905 and 1907 and originally used by the US Army, the Rochester Armory was the site of sporting events throughout the 20th century before closing for several years beginning in the late 1990s, partly due to the lack of a fire suppression system at the time .
It reopened after extensive renovations and began hosting concerts and other events in 2005.
Its main arena is expected to hold about 5,000 people, Smith said. He said the city's firefighter will work with police to determine if that capacity was exceeded on Sunday.
Mayor Evans said it was too early to say if the next scheduled show, rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's performance on Saturday, could go ahead.
"If you go to a concert, don't expect to be trampled on," Evans said.
Your loved ones expect you to come home and talk about the impressions you gained at this wonderful concert.
