Politics Tej: Preparing to impeach Shahbaz government against President Alvi in Pakistan

Shahbaz is preparing to impeach Dr. Arif Alvi, the president of the government.

Upheaval continues in the politics of Pakistan. Shahbaz is preparing to impeach Dr. Arif Alvi, the president of the government. Ruling MPs allege that Alvi is loyal to former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Alvi also violated the constitution in the transfer of power. So it is necessary to remove him from the post of President.

In fact, this political drama started last Thursday. President Alvi addressed a joint session of Parliament under Article 54-1 and 56-3 of the Constitution. After which impeachment was demanded. Alvi appealed for free and fair elections and no polarization. However, only 15 MPs out of 422 were present in the hall during the President's address.

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto said that our party Pakistan People's Party demands that the impeachment process against President Alvi be started quickly. Even when Alvi's collusion was exposed, a vote of no confidence was brought. That is why PP allies boycotted his address together.

A two-thirds majority is required for impeachment. The impeachment process can begin in either of the two houses of Parliament. The House begins the impeachment process against the President. It is noteworthy that no president has been impeached in the political history of Pakistan.

.However, in 2008, an attempt was made to impeach former President Pervez Musharraf, but he resigned before the process could begin.

33 MPs in touch with Imran: PML-N

PML-N MP Shahnawaz Ranza said that the decision to impeach Alvi was taken as he was not fulfilling his constitutional duties. About 33 PTI MPs are upset with the party, who are in touch with us. On the other hand, PTI MP Sadaqat Abbasi has said that if the government has the power to impeach Alvi, it should be used.

But the government does not have enough statistics for this.18 more MPs are needed for impeachmentAccording to Pakistani political analyst Rana Tariq, there are 442 MPs in both houses. Both houses of government have 174 and 70 members respectively.
