Princess Charlene from Monaco tests positive for COVID-19: 'No need to worry.'

"Your health is nothing to worry about," read the statement translated from French.

"Under current health regulations, Princess Charlene will undergo a period of isolation of several days," the Palace of Monaco confirmed to PEOPLE. Princess Charlene of Monaco has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement to news on Saturday, the Palace of Monaco confirmed the 44-year-old daughter, who was "showing several symptoms, was positive" through a screening test. "Under current health regulations, Princess Charlene will undergo an isolation phase of several days."

A week ago, the Princess was last seen in public during the Monaco Grand Prix. Due to her isolation, the Princess will not be taking part in her charity-sponsored Riviera water bike challenge, which is scheduled for Sunday. Her husband, Prince Albert, has twice tested positive for coronavirus. He was among the first world figures to announce that they had contracted the virus in March 2020.

In April this year, he tested positive for the second time and remained in isolation for a short time. Charlene's health has been significant concern over the past year. He first fell ill during his stay in South Africa in May 2021 for a planned 10-day short visit to his home country.

However, complications from a previous ENT procedure delayed him by six months, while a series of painful corrective surgeries, recurrences, and subsequent treatments delayed his final discharge until March.

Upon his return to Monaco, he explained that his health was "fragile" but had appeared at several public events over the past month.
