Queen Elizabeth had a busy week in Scotland!

The 96-year-old monarch is making his fourth appearance on Thursday as many days as part of Royal Week in Scotland. The Queen attends the Royal Redendo Archers Company parade in the gardens of the Palace of Holyroodhouse with her son Prince Charles. She wore a blue dress with a matching coat and hat with her signature beaded accessories to go out.

He also walks using a cane, which he has been operating since October to help with his ongoing mobility problem.

The Queen smiled like she watched the procession from the chair. Despite holding an audience at her home at Windsor Castle, Queen Elizabeth's appearance at Monday's historic key ceremony marked her first public appearance since celebrating her platinum birthday in early June. The Queen was absent from all five days of Royal Ascot earlier this month, the first time she has missed a horse race during her 70-year reign.

The Queen left again on Tuesday to take part in a military parade in the gardens of Holyroodhouse, her royal residence in Edinburgh, Scotland. The Armed Forces Loyalty Parade Act honors the Queen as head of the Scottish Armed Forces and marks her platinum birthday. And on Wednesday, the king met with some of the country's leaders amid the possibility of significant changes - Scotland's First Minister, Nicholas Sturgeon, announced plans to hold a second Scottish independence referendum this week, tentatively scheduled for 19 October 2023.

If accepted, Scotland would secede from England and become an independent nation. However, they will likely keep the Queen as head of state. After becoming an independent nation, Scotland had to vote again to transition from a monarchy to a republic.
