Gogglebox stellar fans are thrilled to see Rylan Clark and his mother Linda return to our screens when the mother-daughter duo returns to Channel 4 on Friday after a two-year hiatus.
The couple's favorite couple had to take time off from the show due to Linda's poor health. Previously, Rylan said her mother had Crohn's disease, a long-term condition that causes digestive system inflammation. Speaking at Loose Women in 2019, Rylan said: "My mother has had severe Crohn's disease her entire life, and I don't think Crohn's disease is talked about enough. I almost lost my mother last year for the third time."
Rylan explains that his mother, Linda, developed sepsis after an unpleasant fight. Talking about the disappointing weather, the former X Factor star recalled that her mother didn't see her in person. "He only managed to get a live broadcast. It's unfortunate for him to see that," he said.
What is Crohn's disease?
Crohn's disease is a lifelong inflammatory bowel disease that can affect people of all ages, although symptoms usually begin in childhood and early adulthood. It usually affects the large intestine and the last part of the small intestine (ileum) but can also cause inflammation of the small and large intestines. Although Crohn's disease is a lifelong condition, it can cause an "explosion" in the digestive system, which can cause painful cramps and bleed.
It's unknown how Crohn's disease starts, although it's thought to be a genetic disease, meaning you're more likely to have it if family members also have it.
