The Late Show announced on Twitter that presenter Stephen Colbert is currently in isolation, and the live show is suspended pending "other orders."
The Late Show will halt filming "until next orders" while host Stephen Colbert continues to recover from COVID-19.
The popular talk show broke the news on Twitter Monday, sharing that Colbert, 57, "is experiencing symptoms consistent with the resurgence of COVID."
"With the utmost care to his staff, guests and viewers, he will be isolated for a few additional days," the tweet read.
The last and final episode of The Late Show aired on Friday, with guest appearances by Chris O'Donnell and Elvis Costello. Colbert first announced that he had tested positive for COVID on April 21, confirming an earlier tweet from The Late Show.
"Yes! I did test positive for Covid, but in general, I feel good - I'm grateful you irritated and empowered me," the talk show host wrote. "Thanks for your kind wishes," Colbert pointed out that his spirits were high enough for a joke and took the time to joke that his positive test was an excuse to stay away from Jason Bateman, who was celebrating the night with fellow Ozark, Laura Linney, to appear at that event.
It just proves that I will do whatever it takes to avoid an interview with Jason Bateman," Colbert joked in his tweet.
Colbert first restarted live recording of his show last June after turning to remote sensing when the pandemic hit in March 2020.
