The Supercabra Tour Super Furry Animals Return to the Live Stage in 2026 Marking a Ten Year Hiatus End

Super Furry Animals the beloved Welsh alternative rock pioneers are set to return to the live stage for the first time in nearly a decade announcing a six date Supercabra Tour across the UK and Ireland for May 2026. This highly anticipated reunion will see frontman Gruff Rhys alongside Huw Bunford Cian Ciarán Guto Pryce and Dafydd Ieuan perform songs from their extensive nine album catalogue bringing their characteristic blend of psychedelic rock pop and electronic experimentation to delighted fans.

The Supercabra tour named after a mythical creature referenced on their 1997 album Radiator will kick off on Wednesday May 6 2026 at Dublin's 3Olympia Theatre. The band will then move on to Glasgow's The Barrowlands on May 8 before playing two shows in their native Wales at Llandudno's Venue Cymru on May 14 and the Utilita Arena in Cardiff on May 16. The tour will conclude with dates at the O2 Apollo in Manchester on May 21 and the O2 Brixton Academy in London on May 22.

The tour announcement which follows a period of individual projects for all band members including Gruff Rhys's solo work and the other four forming the electronic outfit Das Koolies has been eagerly received. Their last live performances were a series of reunion dates in 2016. The news was preceded by subtle teasing across social media hinting at the comeback with cryptic videos and posters of the Supercabra logo.

Adding to the excitement the band is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 2005 album Love Kraft with a special deluxe reissue. The newly remastered edition will be released on October 24 2025 and features an array of bonus tracks including four previously unreleased cuts. One of these unreleased songs "Rock 'N' Roll Flu" is set to premiere just before general tickets for the tour go on sale. General sale for the Supercabra Tour begins on Friday October 3 2025 at 10am local time. This tour is poised to remind audiences why the Super Furry Animals hold a significant place in British music history known for their memorable live shows and refusal to adhere to convention.
