World Record Set for Parasailing Under London's Iconic Bridges

Roy Castle's Daring Feat Breaks the Speed Record in 1986, Soaring Under 10 London Bridges in Under 45 Minutes

In a thrilling moment of adventure, Roy Castle set a world record in 1986 by parasailing under 10 of London's iconic bridges in under 45 minutes, earning a place in the Guinness World Records.

The challenge saw Castle attempt to beat the speed record for parasailing between Lambeth Bridge and Tower Bridge-a feat previously held by Brian Tripp of the Parakites Display Team.

Castle, a well-known television personality and frequent participant in record-breaking challenges, was determined to push the boundaries of what was possible. With the wind in his sails, he soared under some of London's most famous landmarks, all while keeping an eye on the clock.

Upon completing the course, Castle was told that he had "slaughtered" the original record, finishing in an impressive 16 minutes and 57 seconds-far quicker than the previous time.

Castle's achievement was not just a personal victory but a testament to his passion for pushing the limits of human endurance and skill.

He went on to break a total of nine world records for the Record Breakers series, each one contributing to his legendary status in the world of record-setting feats.

Sadly, Roy Castle passed away in 1994 from lung cancer, but his record-breaking accomplishments continue to inspire those who dare to defy the limits. His parasailing under London's bridges remains one of the most iconic moments in television history, forever immortalized in the Guinness World Records.
