A dancing couple in Iran, known as Instagram bloggers, have been sentenced to a total of 10 years in prison after posting a video of themselves dancing near the Azadi Tower in the city square. The same message was also shared by HRANA's official English page, Human Rights Activists News On Twitter, which wrote: "Two Instagram bloggers #Astiaj_Haghighi and #AmirMohammad_Ahmadi have been sentenced to a total of 21 years and other terms. On November 1, security forces violently arrested people after they posted a video on social media of them dancing in a town square.


Dancing couple jailed for ten years


The couple Astiazh Haqiqi, 21, and her fiancé, Amir Mohammad Ahmadi, 22, were arrested on November 1, 2022 and convicted of promoting corruption, prostitution and propaganda by Iranian authorities. In the video, the couple was seen dancing at Azadi Tower (Liberty Tower) in Tehran. They had previously posted the video on their Instagram account, after which they were arrested.
