Chip and Joanna Gaines Announce Silo Baking Contest To Air This Summer: 'A Dream Come True

The home baker heads to Waco, Texas, for Chip and Joanna Gaines' new race!

Coming to the Magnolia Network and Discovery+ on June 12, the Silo Bake Contest is a one-hour special event where talented chefs compete for more than one tempting prize. They are fighting for $25,000, but they're also fighting for a chance to put their winning dessert on the Menu at Chip also Joanna's Silos Baking Co.

The Magnolia founder, who can be seen on the judge's table in the official trailer, is excited about the new film special.

"Welcome to our first Silo Roasting Contest!" said Joanna in the trailer when opening the show. Joanna, a chef, said the show was her "dream come true." While he looks forward to whatever good culinary arts and competition offer, Chip is up for a taste test!

"Just asking, what time are we going to eat?" Chip jokes amusedly in the trailer. One of the unique parts of this hour-long episode is that it takes place in the Silo area, where the Magnolia Market and Bakery are located.

During the trailer, tension is high and there is fierce competition as rivals face last-minute decisions and grilling mistakes.

This one-off special isn't the only food show the network has introduced. In addition, magnolia Network announced several new shows and series returning on Tuesday.

Another summer issue is Lost and Found Recipe, where chef and food anthropologist Casey Korn helps guests rediscover long-forgotten family recipes. A returning fan favorite for a third season is The Lost Kitchen. The show follows chef Erin French at his eponymous Restaurant in Freedom, Maine. People worldwide travel to the French Restaurant where the menu is packed with their local dishes.
